One responsibility per step

Receive an event, validate its shape, transform the fields, then write to the destination. Keeping these concerns separate makes it easier to inspect a run and change one part without disturbing everything else.

Try the starter workflow

The downloadable JSON is an inactive two-node n8n workflow: a POST webhook followed by an explicit JSON acknowledgement. Import it into your own n8n workspace, open the webhook node and listen for a test event. It has no credentials or downstream services.

Add your guardrails

The starter webhook is unauthenticated. Configure header or JWT authentication before exposing a production endpoint. Validate incoming data, add duplicate detection using a persistent store, and set limits appropriate to your deployment.

Test before publishing

Use the test URL while the workflow is listening. Send a small JSON event and verify the acknowledgement. Set up your validation and destination nodes before activating a production version.
